When the National Library of Australia asked if they could add another one of my books to their collection, not only did I say yes, but I jumped at the chance to hand deliver the little Dr Who diary with sonic screwdriver!
As it happened there was also an exhibition of miniature books finishing in the next few weeks so I had even more reason to go.
I grabbed my bestie and we headed off on a road trip. After missing the turn off to Canberra (because we were too busy talking) we arrived in Gundagai. Funny, we didn't think Gundagai was on the way to Canberra - and turns out it's not. We were 200km off track! I haven't laughed so much in years.
We had a wonderful time in Canberra, and the National Library had so much more to see than I imagined. The National Portrait Gallery also houses some real treasures. Food was delicious and I ate more truffles in the weekend than I have in my whole life. We finished off our weekend at the Old Bus Depot Markets where we bought some delicious treats to take home to our families.
Canberra - thank you you really are a special place!
